GIS Analysts build datasets from collected data sources; digitize, clean, and analyze data; and monitor/identify improvements to existing GIS workflows. Introductory and upper level positions are available. Experienced workers must have hands-on technical skills.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of:
- Geographic Information Systems
- Geography
- Biology
- Environmental Sciences
- Engineering
- Other related fields...
Requirements:
- Knowledge of one or more geospatial software, including ArcGIS
- Must understand coordinate projections
- Knowledge of geo-processing tools
- Knowledge of field data collection, GPS, and post processing methods
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Other Preferred Skills:
- 2-3 year experienced preferred
- Basic knowledge of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE)
- Basic knowledge of CADD (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD)
- Basic knowledge of ArcSDE
- Basic knowledge of Spatial Analysis
- Basic knowledge of Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Web, ArcObjects or other scripting/programming skills
Travel:
- Continental U.S. required
- International travel may be required

Skills required by applications developers are used to assist web, desktop application, and corporate system development to support Engineering and Mapping sciences. Spatial Engineering, Inc. development team is required to maintain supremacy in knowledge of the latest technology and to advance technology in the area of Geographic Information Systems.
Education:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Business or related field
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of relational database concepts (preferably Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle)
- Experience in application development using VB, C++, C#, .NET, Java, and COM required
- Strong Knowledge of ODBC/SQL and ADO from C++ or Visual Basic
- Strong knowledge of web development using ASP, Java, and JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of PC/Server hardware and software components
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
Other Preferred Skills:
- Basic knowledge of CAD (MicroStation and/or AutoCad)
- Basic knowledge of GIS
- Basic knowledge of ESRI products (ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcIMS)
- Basic knowledge of Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server database
- Basic knowledge of SQL
